X-Force #1, page 20

Cable in that first panel there is majorly, majorly fucked. There's obviously the Super Extreme Grimace™. There are the ultra-black shadows all over his face, indicating a light source wholly inconsistent with the one light source Liefeld actually drew--namely, those handgun(s). I say gun(s) because I can't tell if there are two or not. There's a blast from another one, but there's no evidence of his arm, and in fact it looks like his left forearm is sticking out from under the triggerguard of the primary handgun (in such a way that it would be impossible for the upper arm to connect back to his shoulder, but no matter). It's a mystery. The hand actually holding and firing the gun is excremely poorly-rendered--fingers just don't work like that, and it makes the gun look like it has no handle, and the lines ALL OVER IT aren't making it look any better. The reflections on the gun are an indicator of yet another light source that Liefeld didn't draw or apply consistently.
I still think that the text inside Cable's speech bubble is comically undersized. He's supposed to be super angry, he is furious that Stryfe is over here, he is murdering that sucker... and yet the words come out no bigger (louder) than normal, and are actually much much smaller than the sound effects in the very same panel.
After that glorious first panel, it's a bit of a letdown. In fact, it's an extreme letdown: Stryfe does precisely nothing before disappearing again. He just showed up, got shot at, and ran off. The dramatic potential of an encounter with Cable and Stryfe (not phenomenal in the best of circumstances) was entirely squandered by this absurdly brief encounter.
At least in panel 4 we're treated to a bizarre new expression of rage, "stab his eyes," and yet another example of Warpath being drawn far, far huger than any person has the right to be.
